Twitter problems are exactly what your having if you lose your Twitter account.What would happen if Twitter went down? If you lost all of your followers? What would happen if someone started spamming from your account? Can you save the account? Can you get back your followers and your tweets?

Ultimately do you have a contingency plan?

The fact of the matter is having a contingency plan is sometimes what makes and breaks a company. Let’s take a look at Toyota for example. They’re suffering some major PR bruising right now because they’ve failed to act timely and confidently in the face of their automotive problems.

Comparing that to Johnson & Johnson – the definitive contingency planning company When someone reported they’d found a needle in their shampoo – J&J went into action. They’d already brainstormed that problem and had a book with the fix already written. Within a week they had all the affected shampoo out of stores and new “Needle-Free” labeled shampoo on the shelves.

You know that Twitter has become part of your life because you can barely watch any news program that doesn’t cite Twitter or invite you to comment on Twitter. More and more people are joining Twitter following companies brands and people and “believing” what is being tweeted. That being said it’s also largely out of your control.

Everyday people are encountering twitter problems like:

    * Spammers
* Lost Followers
* Lost Profile Photo
* Deleted Account
* or the inability to log-in among others

The key is to get the solution in your hands BEFORE you have any Twitter problems. For example there are two things you have to do to stop a spammer should they get access to your account. Unless you do both you likely won’t stop them. And once you see spam with your name on it how long do you have to fix it before your customers’ notice? Before they complain? Before they unfollow you?

My friend Dan Morris wrote a report called TwitterGlitch that highlights these problems how to fix them who to talk to at Twitter to get them fixed and even which third party “help desks” are monitored by Twitter.

(( By the way… If you don’t know Dan you should. He’s a great guy really smart and a lot of fun. You can find Dan on Twitter. His username is DanRMorris. Follow him and let him know I sent you.))

Dan told me the easiest and smartest thing you can do to protect your Twitter account is to click on “Profile” everyday and make sure all the tweets on your front page were left by you. And if you’re using Tweetdeck or Hootsuite make it a habit to log-in to Twitter.com once per week to check your account log-in.

Otherwise you may want to get a copy of TwitterGlitch and have the solutions to your Twitter problems in your hands. Don’t make finding the solutions your second problem.

I would like to invite to to get more information about TwitterGlitch and how to solve your Twitter problems… Just go to http://joemarsh.com/twitterglitch

You can increase web site traffic through Twitter. I’m sure you have heard it but your asking yourself how. Here is how to do it in its most simplest form.

First create a profile on Twitter.

You can create a profile here >> http://joe-marsh.com/twitter

Your profile will include your username. Your username is what people will associate you with and will brand you… So choose the appropriate name.

Enter your profile information… some information about yourself. Link back to your main site. Use a profile picture and make it a real picture of you. Not something fake. People want to know who you are.

Do a searches on Twitter for people using the terms that are appropriate to your field or niche. Start following these people. Follow 50-100 people each day to keep it simple… You can follow more if you want.

Post status updates… helpful information about your field or niche that others can use. Include links to your site and other sites that are helpful for people in your field or niche.

Continue everyday to follow people and post updates to your account on Twitter. Do this 3 times each day for 15 minute each time and build it from there. If you want… you can spend more time doing this but just be careful. It can become a big time suck and you could find yourself not getting other things done as far as traffic generation.

After you have registered follow me on Twitter. To follow me go here >> http://joe-marsh.com/twitterjoemarsh

After you follow me send the Tweet below… Just copy and paste it then post it on Twitter and I will follow you back. This way I know who you are.

Copy paste and post this Tweet>> @joemarsh Thanks for the Twitter Tips. http://bit.ly/JqJEX

Take small step now and build from there… Just do it and increase web site traffic to your site through Twitter.

One method of automating is to use Tweetlater.

With Tweetlater you can automatically send a message whenever someone signs up to follow you. You can send a digest to your twitter followers. And you can automatically follow people back who follow you.

If you have any Twitter Tips you would like to share with our readers just email them to me and I will post them.

Twitter Tips… Who do you follow on Twitter…

One use for Twitter is to use it as another avenue for marketing. And one common method for finding others is to use the Twitter search function.

Let’s say for example you are in the health and wellness field. During your conversations on Twitter you happen to talk about fishing. For those who use the search function and do a search on fishing will find your post.

Once they see this… there is a good chance they may decide to follow you. Even though they are not in your niche.

So what do you do to make your Twitter account more targeted. Here are a few simple and easy methods.

First you could ask your new followers. Such as… Hi Bob. Thanks for following me. I am always curious as to what made my new friends decide to follow me. What was your deciding factor? This is a simple and straight forward method.

You could go to your new followers home page and read their bio. If you don’t like what you see you could always block them or un-follow them.

And lastly you could also just let things go as they are. If they don’t like what you have to say they at some point will un-follow you.

So there you go. Three simple and easy ways to create a more targeted Twitter account.

If you have any Twitter Tips you would like to share with our readers just email them to me and I will post them.

Include your tip your website (optional) your email address (in case I have a question about your tip) and your twitter name. Each posted tip will include the tip your twitter name and your website.

Until next time… have tweetific day.
